Serving all. Benefiting all.

Nearly eight months into our merger, our new name Humility Homes and Services, Inc., is settling in. Every now and then, we may hear, ‘Humility of Mary”, or “housing”, or “shelter.”

Sometimes lost in our new name is our new tagline Serving all. Benefiting all. The tagline speaks to who we are, what we do, how we do it, and why we do what we do.

Serving all speaks to our radical acceptance of all persons, wherever we are on our journey. Everyone needs a safe place to call home. And as our friend Patricia Mendoza memorialized, “everyone should have a place to lay their head.”

Benefiting all speaks to our commitment to join the Congregation of Humility of Mary’s calling for a community that is working for justice in the human family and caring for earth itself.

Serving all speaks to our belief that everyone needs basic necessities like food and a stable place to live. From the foundation of a home, we can move forward in addressing other issues and barriers. Housing First!

Benefiting all speaks to the universal philosophy we are part of an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.

Serving all speaks to the continuum of housing programs and supportive services we are building to meet the needs of Quad Cities’ residents who are experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable housing situations.

Benefiting all speaks to the financial and human benefits in our community when we invest in quality, affordable housing. A stable home increases our individual productivity and the overall well-being of our neighborhoods.
