Amie's Story

My name is Amie Pake, the new Property Manager with Humility Homes and Services. I grew up in a military family so growing up we moved quite a bit. My family settled in Panama City, Florida in 1996 when my dad retired and I call it home. Due to the transient nature of my young life, which comes with having a father who is a US Marine, I see the benefit that having a stable home and community has had on my 15-year old daughter.

I moved to the Quad Cities in 2005. A few years after moving here I decided to return to school. I received my Associates Degree from Scott Community College and my bachelors in Business Management from Western Illinois University. During my last year at Western I had the opportunity to start working part time for a property management and development company. I was there for 5 years and rose to the position of Office Manager, running the day to day business and management of the staff and properties.

In April 2019 I had to chance to come to Humility Homes and Services. I was excited about the new adventure in my life. Everybody has been welcoming here and I look forward to a bright future as the Property Manager with HHSI.

One of my favorite things about working with HHSI is the support of the community and the groups of volunteers that believe in the mission of Humility Homes and Services, “A home for every person.” My first weekend as a HHSI employee, I volunteered with my daughter at our Spring Fresh Start Benefit Sale. The widespread need for basic household items at affordable prices was eye-opening for my daughter and me. I knew right away we were in the right place!

HHSI is always looking for new groups and individuals to join us in our goal of creating housing opportunities for all. In the property services division, we are looking for volunteers for lawn services and to help prepare apartments for new participants. If you are interested in spending a few hours or days volunteering, please give Patti a call 563-326-1330 ext. 105 or send her an email at p.trapp@humilityhomes.org.

I hope to meet you in person soon!
